You just don’t know how much it fucking hurts, do you?

The first time I felt my best friend slipping away from me, I cried. I freaked the hell out. I said “What’s wrong with me? Why does it always happen?”

Sure. I tried to play it all cool, say, “Oh, I don’t care anymore. I don’t need her.” But that’s a lie. Every time I see you and we just glance at each other, I die a little. You asked on the last day of school if we could take a picture together like the first day of school. And then purposely, I think, cut me out so it was just you and the guy you like. It really hurts.

And you told others you didn’t want to be friends with me because I have a boyfriend and I spend to much time with him. He makes me happy. You told me you wanted me to be happy. I supported you when you dated a guy who lived down the street from me. You didn’t know it, but I invited you over because I knew you wanted to see him.

So, when you say “Finally, someone who actually trusts and cares about me!” it never fails for me to tear up. I was always there. I always will be whether you want me to or not. I just thought you should know.

I may never be your best friend again. But you’ll always be mine.
